Unfortunately it was a subdued ending to the year from a rugby perspective as once more the weather conditions took its toll on the fixture list last weekend. Our Senior, Under 16, Under 14 and Under 13 teams all saw their scheduled fixtures fall foul of the freezing conditions but our Under 15 and Under 18.5 sides did ensure there was some active representation for the red and white on Sunday last. Unfortunately it was not a winning weekend with the U15 team going down on a scoreline of 17-7 to Clanwilliam RFC while the score in the U18.5 game was 24- 10 in favour of Midleton RFC. Nonetheless well done to both sides for getting back on the pitch despite limited preparation due to the weather conditions over the preceding fortnight. Better days will follow no doubt.

For most teams the attention now turns to preparing for 2023. However our Under 16 team are squeezing the last out of the 2022 action when they take on Ennis RFC in a home Quarter Final of the North Munster League on December 27th at 12pm. This team have been performing exceptionally well in the season to date and any supporters hungry for action over the festive period could do worse than come to Lisatunny on that day to cheer on the boys.
