Nenagh Ormond under 15s entertained UL Bohemians on Friday last in our first game of the season.
Conditions were perfect and made way for a flowing game. Nenagh were slow enough to settle and seemed to cough up the ball in tight exchanges quite easily
. Bohs ran in 2 tries in quick succession which in turn seemed to spur the Nenagh side on. From a scrum in front of the stand Cody O Connor at 12 made a sublime pass to James O Dwyer who on collecting the pass ghosted outside his defender and beat the 15 to dot down. Nenagh were very unlucky not to score a second try with a try adjudged to be double movement. Bohs scored again to leave the half time score 15-7. At half time the subs were rolled on and Nenagh again started slow and let the opposition in for another 2 scores. However Nenagh upped the ante in the last 12 mins and looked like a different team. Up stepped Anluan White who picked at the back of a ruck in midfield and took off up the middle beating multiple defenders to score under the posts. That score gave Nenagh great belief and from the drop off Nenagh took the game to Bohs. Luke Slattery made a great break and was hauled down with the line at his mercy, and from this ruck quick thinking by Anluan White as he picked and powered over the line. That brought it back to a one score game but unfortunately Bohs scored in the last play of the game.
A good solid workout for the team with a few bits to work on in training. 🔴⚪️
Training continues Wednesday evening. All new players welcome.
