Pictured are the Nenagh Ormond U11s who returned to matches on Sunday. 32 kids travelled to Thomond RFC. Unfortunately, one of the other visiting team had to pull out of the blitz and Nenagh ended up playing just Thomond and themselves, but that didn't mean the hits were forgiving. The kids put on a great show in what turned out a gorgeous morning for a game of rugby.
Nenagh Ormond U13s
This season Nenagh Ormond under 13s are in the fortunate position of being able to field two teams with over 50 players registered. Each team has already played two matches in the North Munster Development League and on Sunday last Nenagh arranged friendly matches for each team.
The Red team welcomed Thurles RFC to Nenagh on Friday evening for a match under lights on the main pitch. Both Thurles and Nenagh put on a great display in what were perfect conditions for free-flowing running rugby. Many thanks to Thurles for making the trip and we look forward to playing them again this season to continue the relationship we have built up at this age grade.
On Sunday the White team travelled to Portlaoise RFC but unlike the game on Friday, the lads had to adapt to wetter conditions. While conditions weren't very conducive to a running game our lads were able to display strong scrummaging and rucking skills. Our thanks also to Portlaoise for hosting us and providing us with some tough opposition which no doubt will stand to the lads as we progress through the season.
Next Sunday the Red team travel to Young Munsters/Richmond and the White team host UL Bohemians in their next league matches. The lads have adapted so well to the 15-aside full pitch game, and we look forward to seeing them produce some solid performances over the course of the season. The future of Nenagh Rugby looks in safe hands with such a strong pool of talent.
