In a repeat of the Bateman Cup Semi-Final four weeks ago, Nenagh Ormond take on Clontarf this Saturday in round 8 of the All-Ireland League.

That semi-final resulted in a 34-29 win for Clontarf, with Nenagh performing creditably and finishing well to be in touching distance at the close.

The reigning AIL Champions have been on a winning run of late and currently lie second in division 1A, whilst Nenagh Ormond remain bottom, having since suffered further reverses against Ballynahinch and leaders St Mary’s College.

Munster’s Sean O’Brien made a scoring debut for Nenagh on the wing against St Mary’s and will feature once again, this time in the centre. Elsewhere in selection, the Nenagh coaching team continue to shake things up with no fewer than 6 changes from last week’s starting 15. Back rowers John Brislane and Evan Murphy return to the squad, while Mikey Doran, Mathew Burke, Patrick Scully and head coach Derek Corcoran all start, having been on the bench last week.

Clontarf field what looks like a very strong side with several interprovincial players included in their line-up. They are undoubtedly strong favourites to overcome a Nenagh side that are still struggling to spark in the red-hot competitive atmosphere of the AIL’s top division.

Please note: This game will be played on the main (grass) pitch which means that the stand will be open
