U-15 Match Report
Nenagh Ormond 12 St Senan’s 26
Last Friday evening saw Nenagh Ormond under 15's host a strong St Senans side at home under lights in New Ormond park. Kicking off at 7.30, Nenagh played with a strong swirling wind that offered very little advantage during the game. Starting really well with some soft hands from forwards and backs, a break down the blindside from Tadgh O’Brien saw Nenagh over for the first try of the day with John O Donovan on the receiving end of a selfless pass. Converted by Joseph Gleeson Nenagh led by 7-0. After some very good ball carrying skills from St Senans they answered Nenagh's Try and put their first try on scoreboard. Converted also, the teams were level 7-7. Next up some sloppy passing by Nenagh resulted in another break for Senans and they went over for their 2nd try. Nenagh were not to panic though, exhibiting some excellent skills and sending Adam Hall down the wing with the support of Sean Moylan to score in the corner. It was Sean's first try for Nenagh and he had a fantastic game defending the space and making some crucial tackles. Half time arrived, and the score was 14-12 to the visitors. In the 2nd half the weather deteriorated, and the game progressed with one knock on after another from both sides, meaning there were a lot of Scrums. Nenagh looked the stronger scrum wise and special mention must go out to both front rows, especially our own lads, who dominated the scrum in the game. Indiscipline let Nenagh down in the 2nd half in a game they could have won. St Senans scored 2 more tries in a scrappy 2nd half performance from both sides. Nenagh went in for one more try at the end but it was disallowed ending the game 26-12. Nenagh were bolstered by a squad of 27 and all 27 players featured in the game.
Training resumes 7pm Tuesday and Friday.
