Nenagh Ormond 24-19 Newcastle West
Nenagh Ormond Under 16s played Newcastle West on Friday night in Annacotty in the quarter final of the North Munster League. When the teams played in early September Nenagh ran out very easy winners but the West Limerick team were a much improved outfit on this occasion and Nenagh, without several of their starters, had to rely on a try a few minutes from the end to claim a 24-19 victory.
Try scorers on the night were Aaron Delahunty (2), Tom Lillis and Liam Cooney. Adam Steed kicked two conversions. Man of the match was Liam Cooney, playing out of position at full back, who made four try saving tackles as well as carrying aggressively for huge yardage.
Bruff away on the 23rd of December await in the semi final.
