Nenagh Ormond under 11’s hosted a home blitz on Sunday last at Lisatunny. UL Bohs and St Mary’s each brought one team. The morning was promising from the offset and there was excellent rugby on display by all teams. Nenagh were slow to settle in to the games but once they did they represented themselves very well. There were some excellent tackling, counter rucking and well worked tries on display. The two Nenagh teams each played UL Bohs and St. Mary’s. Both teams were beaten by UL Bohs and seemed to get sucked into the breakdown, leaving no over lap and the scores then came for the other side.
Things were different against St. Mary’s where out lads recycled the ball well and worked it constantly into scoreable positions. Nenagh played some fantastic defense play with some of our powerful forwards stepping up to the mark when needed.
Afterwards William Talbot - Head Coach paid tribute to Robert Ashman who trained with the under 11”s over the past number of years. Robert will commence training with the under12’s from next week onwards.
