Gordon Darcy’s Tour de Provinces Cycle for Barretstown:
Leinster, Ireland and Lions Rugby legend Gordon Darcy is undertaking a four day, 850km, solo cycle visiting rugby clubs in each of the four provinces to raise funds for Barretstown Camps. For those unaware, Barretstown runs camps and other services for children suffering from very serious illnesses. Nenagh Ormond are honoured to be selected as one of the host clubs on Gordon’s cycle. He will be visiting the club on July 21 where we hope to have some events taking place involving the children in our minis section and more importantly hope to be making a donation to Gordon’s efforts from our Split the Bucket funds. See below for more details and keep an eye on our social media pages for more related news.
Split the Bucket: Well done to senior player Fionn McGibney, the latest winner of our Split the Bucket jackpot and thanks to all who continue to support the draw each week. The proceeds of the draw on the week of 24 July will be presented to Gordon Darcy for his Tour de Provinces cycle. As this for a fantastic cause that helps out so many children we are asking as many people as possible to consider subscribing to the draw or perhaps buying an entry for a family member in aid of such a great charity. As always 50 percent of the pot is up for grabs for the weekly winner so the more that subscribe, the bigger the prize and more importantly, the bigger our donation to Barretstown. Purchasing options are available on the Clubzap app, through links on our various social media pages or by contacting any committee member. There will be bonus draws too for some signed jerseys and other merchandise related to the event in the coming weeks so dig deep and support Gordon’s efforts.
