Nenagh Ormond RFC are delighted to announce that our own Seán McCullough is staying on as Munster Branch President for the 2020/21 season. Seán was appointed Munster Branch President for 2019/20 season and unfortunately due to the pandemic, did not get an opportunity to fulfil many of his roles and duties that would occur in a normal year. The Munster Branch at their AGM last July ratified Seán to stay on for another term and will hold office as President again for the coming season. This will be the first time in history that a President will serve two terms, and we would like to extend our thanks to the branch for recognising Seán's contribution to rugby in the province and facilitating his term as President for the coming year.
Sean and his wife Mary have a long association with Nenagh Ormond and initially got involved as a Committee member in 2005, which is when NORFC were promoted to Senior status. He served on a number of committees over this period, including finance and development. Later, Seán 's company, Nenagh Quickfit, became a valued sponsor. Seán then-became NORFC President in 2009 and again in 2015.
After serving as a Munster Branch delegate for 8 years,Nenagh Ormond put Sean forward to the Branch for the Presidency role and after going through a series of interviews became Junior Vice President in 2018/19. He was Senior Vice President in 2019/20 and was elected to the role as President in 2020/21.
Seán and all at NORFC are looking forward to the start of the new season, getting to see some live rugby again in New Ormond Park, and meeting everyone again. From all of us at NORFC, we would like to wish Seán all the best for his tenure as Munster Branch President for 2021/22.
