The senior squad got their league campaign off to the best possible start with a 20-5 win away to UL Bohemians last Saturday. Scorers on the day were Kevin O Flaharty (1 try), James Finn (2 Pens and 1 Con) as well as a penalty try from a maul. Their campaign continues apace with their opening home fixture this coming Saturday in Lisatunny with MU Barnhall at 2.30pm. Barnhall themselves opened their campaign with a win at home to Old Crescent RFC last Saturday and look to be in good form. A tough battle will no doubt ensue. This will be followed on Friday night the 14th October with another home match vs Cashel RFC. The hard work put in by the squad in terms of S&C work over the pre- season period will be put to the test as the tough schedule will undoubtedly bring challenges from an endurance and injury perspective. The squad have answered every question put to them so far however and we wish all involved well over the coming games. Lets hope a strong local following attends all games to shout the boys on and keep the momentum going.
