The under 12’s made a trip to Birr on Sunday to play a well drilled and hardy Birr outfit who knew what they were doing. Missing 10 regulars through illness and the Burgess contingent being unavailable with other commitments. Nevertheless the lads continued on their long unbeaten run. Great character and guts were shown by both of our teams on the day. In particular in the second match the red team were three tries to one down with 5 minutes left on the clock. No subs were available and we had 3 walking wounded and with their record on the line they dug deep, found an extra gear from god only knows where and dug out a win by scoring 4 unanswered tries to come out winners in the end. Even the Birr support were aprreciative of the backs to the wall fighting spirit and discipline shown by the Nenagh side. Training is on Wednesday night at the rugby grounds at 6 and all are welcome. You just need to bring your boots, your gum shield and your heart!
