The under 12s were on their travels again into Limerick missing a couple of key players to meet a fully loaded Garryowen side. With a lot of pre match chatter about these being the 2 best teams in North Munster at under 12 we feared Garryowen might have too much. The Nenagh lads however quickly put that argument to bed. Superb in the first 2 games with excellent defence on show they filled the pitch and never allowed Garryowen to get going and when the red and white had the ball they showed brilliant footwork and offloading to keep the Garryowen defence bamboozled. Having won the 2 games with no subs available the lads had 2 more games left and had to go to the well more than once and won well in one but were narrowly defeated in the other for a successful day overall. This is turning into a serious side and they will be there or thereabouts for silverware going forward. With the famous Willow park tournament on the horizon on March 25th in Dublin for these lads, the Shannon tournament on good Friday and another in Midleton in April, there is much to look forward to for this side.
