Senior Rugby: The recent good run of form being enjoyed by the senior side continued on Saturday last as the home team dispatched a tenacious Ballymena team with a five try bonus point performance to improve their league standing to 2nd place just two points off top spot. The team now have a break in Energia AIL play for the next fortnight but that doesn’t mean they have a break in reality. In fact one of the club’s biggest ever fixtures beckons. On Thursday March 16th at 7.30pm Thomond Park we face Division 1A high fliers Young Munster in the Munster Senior Clubs Challenge Cup final. This is the first ever appearance by a Tipperary side in this competition. With 5 Junior Cup wins to their credit Nenagh will be anxious to add Senior honours to their roll of honour but the task at hand is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that Young Munster are chasing down three in a row in this competition not to mention that they did the Senior/ Junior double last season, a rare feat indeed. This team has continuously exceeded expectations this year. Don’t miss out on the trip to Thomond and the possibility of witnessing another piece of history in our club's nearly 140 year history.
