Senior Rugby: The games keep coming thick and fast for the senior side right now. Next up is the visit of Ballymena to New Ormond Park on Saturday 4th of March at 2.30pm. This is a great opportunity for the lads to consolidate their spot in the top 4 of the table and perhaps even improve on their spot in 3rd place. The Antrim side are a dangerous prospect however and are not averse to picking up big results on the road. Having beaten Nenagh on home turf earlier in the season they will travel with confidence. All support would be much appreciated to ensure the Nenagh lads enjoy a vocal atmosphere.

Commiserations to our Senior 2nds side who went down fighting to Garryowen in the Junior Cup last 16 tie on Sunday. It wasn’t their day with a few injuries to experienced players not helping their cause but making it through three rounds of a tough competition gave valuable experience to a very young squad. They will have many better days in the red and white jersey in the years ahead.

Under 13: Nenagh Ormond under 13s made the trip down to Cashel on Sunday last. Conditions were perfect for running rugby and it turned out to be an eventful game. Nenagh started very well from the kick off and had Cashel under pressure. After several phases Nenagh were awarded a penalty on the 5m line. Cody tapped and passed to Monko who did very well to burrow his way under the defence to score the first try. Nenagh kept the momentum going, and from a line out steal by Aidan Stead, Nenagh pounded the Cashel line where eventually Luke Slattery picked and drove over the line. Cashel scored next in the last play before halftime. They moved the ball from touchline to touchline to score and leave the score 10-5 at halftime. As well as the attack there was some excellent last ditch tackling in the first half from Daniel Boland, Donagh Carmody, Kaden Fogarty and Oisin Hogan.

The second half was a tighter affair with a real ding dong battle. Cashel scored next with an unconverted try. The game was level and Nenagh upped the ante for the next 5 mins and got the next score. Again some excellent forwards play by Sean Ryan, Scott Powell and Shane Gleeson brought the ball close to the Cashel line where Marcus Finn fed Aidan Stead who drove low to finish a good team try. The difficult conversion was missed to leave the score 15-10.

Unfortunately with 2 mins to go Cashel scored a converted try from deep to leave it 17-15 with time running out. Nenagh regained the drop off and were very unlucky not to get a score but it wasn’t to be. Training continues each Wednesday evening. Our next game is a final on March 12th. Details will be shared on our social pages when available.

U10: Our Under 10s made the short trip into Limerick on Sunday morning for a North Munster blitz with UL Bohemians. We've had matches over the past three weekends and the game time is obviously benefiting the lads. Passing, running, rucking, tackling and offloading were all top class. Having played UL Bohs at the start of the season, their coaches were very complimentary of how much our guys have improved. We have another away blitz lined up for next weekend, see below for details.

Pan Munster Playoff Games: This is a very important weekend for our youth teams with three of our sides in playoff action in their respective Pan Munster competitions on Sunday. Each team has earned home advantage for these games and all support would be very much appreciated. Our U18.5 side are in the Pan Munster Plate Quarter Final, the U16 side are in Pan Munster Cup action and the U15 side are in Pan Munster Bowl contention. Full fixture details are included in our weekly fixtures post. Best of luck to all teams and their coaches for these important games.
